The Blind Side

The Blind Side is a 2009 American-Drama Film featuring Hollywood’s favorite, Sandra Bullock. The story is based on the novel by Michael Lewis.

The storyline features Michael Oher (played by Quinton Aaron), an offensive lineman who plays for the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL. The film follows Oher from his impoverished upbringing, through his years at Wingate Christian School (a fictional representation of Briarcrest Christian School in the suburbs of Memphis, Tennessee).

Sandra Bullock plays Michael's legal guardian, a wealthy catholic, and tough but fair mother. Sandra Bullock's performance earned her a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. The film itself also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.

This film was truly great and told the story of a boy who became one of the biggest football players in the State of Tennessee but started off with nothing.  Michael was taken into one of the best schools in the State after a friend's father managed to get him a place. The story progresses and becomes an emotional journey for the film and the audience.  Definitely one of the best movies of 2009.

The film was also a box office success with a total revenue of $287,049,109.
