Tiger's Back And Better Than Ever

Conor's Column

Over the Easter break, one Teldrick Tont Woods, or 'Tiger,' returned to the world of golf from a break due to marital issues.  The platform for his debut?  The US Masters.  No one expected much from Tiger in this major golf competition due to the fact that he had not played competetive golf for five months.

He sure showed them when it came to tee-off!  He was greeted with a surprise roar of appreciation from the crowd before joining with his playing partner for the tournament, KJ Choi.  He scored an astounding 67 on the first day.  From where he summoned this, it is hard to know.  He himself insisted in an after-game interview that this was due to keeping his head down and going all-out in the practise rounds before the big day.

At the end of the fourth and final day, Tiger did not play the best golf we have seen from him, he hit a few off-shots.  Yet in the end it was not to be and he finished in a tie for fourth place with KJ Choi at 11-under par.  He lost out to eventual winner and world number two, Phil Mickelson, who ended the day on sixteen-under par to claim his third green jacket.
